Yesterday, the first day of the year – a day that is usually reserved for renewal, starting over, beginnings.
It was unfortunately the ending of one story. My precious nephew, Cooper, lost his fight with cancer yesterday, 1.11.2011. He would have been 5 on January 31st.
What a horrible way to start the new year. The only solace I can take is that he’s not in any more pain. I won’t go on too much about it here, you can read on his fight with cancer at CooperTroopers.com.
This week will be spent traveling, making funeral arrangements, and consoling family. So, as I will have no control over when and where I eat, sticking to a diet of sorts is going to be difficult, but I’ll try my hardest. I hardly even remember what I ate or drank yesterday, know I had a soda or two without even realizing it. Sodas are definitely my cigarettes. Packing now, laundry, remembering to take workout pants in case there’s a way to sneak off for a walk.
Rest in Peace, sweet Cooper, we miss you already, and love you very much.
